When Jonas Wind left FC Copenhagen for Wolfsburg in January 2022, he did not only leave the club where he started out, but also the club that he has supported all his life. His father, Peter, was a former goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach – and Jonas used to help his father in training by picking up the balls behind the goal. In the Bundesliga, Wind is impressing with his cool-level head and technique. He can score from pretty much any position on the pitch, and is not afraid to try a sneaky Panenka penalty, having tried and succeeded one on a couple of occasions: “It takes some balls, and that is what I got,” he has said. Averages about a goal every third game for Wolfsburg, which is not bad at all, but the goals dried up somewhat towards the end of the season.
