- Most European leagues are currently on hold because of the coronavirus.
- The Belgian, Dutch and French leagues have been cancelled altogether.
- However, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga are planning to resume soon.
- And FIFA's medical chief Dr. Michel D'Hooghe doesn't think it's a good idea to restart football before September.
"The world is not ready for competitive football. I hope this can change very quickly. I sincerely hope, believe me. But I can say it's not the case today. You need more patience," FIFA medical chief Dr. Michel D'Hooghe has told Sky Sports.
"Football remains a contact sport and one of the first things that everybody says is that you should avoid contact for the moment. So football can only be possible if contacts are possible again.
"I wouldn't like football to return anytime before September. That's my personal opinion of course."
