- Gareth Bale played for Tottenham between 2007 and 2013.
- Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp runs out of superlatives while describing Bale's talent.
- He says Gareth 'had everything'.
"Gareth Bale was scary. People tell me all the time that I was going to loan him out before he made it big but I don't know where that came from. I was never going to loan Gareth out.
"You looked at him and he had everything. What a player."
Redknapp also hailed his former mentee Luka Modric.
"Luka Modric was genius," he said.
Gareth Bale had three tremendous seasons in England before he left for Real Madrid. In his 2012/13 Premier League campaign, the Welshman scored 21 goals and provided 9 assists in 33 games for Spurs. What's even more special, he used to play as a wide midfielder back then.
Statistically, Bale's best time at Real Madrid was the 2015/16 season. He was just incredible back then, having bagged 19 goals and recorded 14 assists. What is noticeable is the slight improvement in 2017/18 but after that, the 30-year-old just seems to get worse.
The 19/20 season is unarguably Bale's worst chapter in the Spanish capital, and not just statistically. The winger has made just 18 appearances for Zidane's men this season, mainly as a result of calf and ankle injuries. He has scored 3 goals and registered 2 assists.
