Los Blancos drew 1-1 against Unai Emery's crew.
- Dani Carvajal - 8
Great to have Dani back. Carvajal was one of the most dangerous Real Madrid players on the opponents' half of the pitch, provided an assist for Mariano's opener and did well defensively.
- Nacho - 7
Nacho had a tough job of replacing Sergio Ramos in the starting line-up and he definitely succeeded. The centre-back duo of Nacho and Raphael Varane looks totally fine ahead of the Inter clash.
- Raphael Varane - 8
An absolutely monstrous defensive performance from Varane. Apart from a few moments at the very end of the game, the Frenchman, along with Nacho, didn't let Villarreal create anything.
- Martin Odegaard - 7
Once again showed his potential. Did a great job of moving the ball around with Toni Kroos. Was not a weak spot defensively. The sky is the limit for this young man.
- Eden Hazard - 5
Looked completely off the pace. Produced a few moments of individual brilliance but hardly did anything else. Zero shots, zero crosses and zero key passes - the stats speak for themselves.
- Mariano Diaz - 7
Mariano, who made his first start since May 2019, needed just 105 seconds to score. Was a constant threat, fought for every ball. Real Madrid did not miss Luka Jovic in this particular game.
