GDS: Real Madrid reportedly found Modric's replacement
- Real Madrid would approach Pjanic if Modric leaves
- The asking price for the 28-year-old midfielder is €100m
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid have identified Juventus's Miralem Pjanic as the replacement for Luka Modric. The Royals would pursue the midfielder only if the Croatian star decides to leave Madrid.
Pjanic is not likely to be an easy target, as the Bosnian himself has recently stated that he is happy in Turin and is not looking for a move despite being heavily linked with Real Madrid's El Clasico rivals Barcelona. The Bianconeri are expected to request at least 100 million euros for one of their key players.
CalcioMercato believe that Modric and Florentino Perez will meet this week to discuss the potential exit. Marca's Jose Luis Sanchez has claimed on Sunday that the player is seriously considering leaving the club this summer - Modric reportedly wants to sign his last big contract and gets pressured by his agents.
The journalist suggests that Real Madrid don’t have any precise exit plan with Luka Modric. The club don’t take Inter’s offer seriously because it will go against the rules of the Financial Fair play: as it was explained by Real Madrid president, Modric could only leave if a club pay his €750m release clause.
According to different reports from Italian media, Modric and Perez have an "informal agreement", according to which the club is ready to sell the player for another sum in case he requests a transfer, just as it was with CR7.
Would you swap Modric for Pjanic?
