According to ESPN who quote their own source, "Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has informed new manager Maurizio Sarri he wants to leave". It is believed by many that the Belgian goalkeeper is eager to join Los Blancos to reunite with his family who live in Madrid.
However, a reputable Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur explains that the conversation between the player and the coach didn't take place but the transfer is more of a question of when rather than if:
Chelsea coach has provided an update on Courtois and Hazard's situation on Sunday:
"I have already talked to Courtois and Hazard two days ago [giggles]. I think there is more good news than bad news," he told reporters.
The Premier League's transfer window closes on August 9 and the all the sagas are expected to be over by that day.
