Inter centre-back opens up on Modric talks
- Inter defensive player Joao Miranda states Luka Modric would rather stay in Madrid than move to Nerazzurri
- However, the Brazilian is sure the Croatian would be finely received in Italy
Internazionale defender Joao Miranda has told Luka Modric will likely stay at Madrid despite the team would be very glad to see the Croatian among themselves.
"I am a big fan of Modric, he is an incredibly strong player, but I think he will remain in Madrid."
Earlier on, it was also revealed that Luciano Spalletti, Inter coach, believes Luka Modric would rather stay at Madrid than plan a move to Internazionale.
Spalletti at Wanda presser on Modric "That he has shown interest to join us is obviously positive, we are trying to create the right conditions for him to join Inter Milan. If Real Madrid wants to hold onto him, we would have to accept that, and I think that is what will happen."— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) 11 августа 2018 г.
Modric is allegedly determined to join Inter and has not agreed any extension terms with Los Blancos.
This report is somewhat questionable, as Inter sporting director Ausilio has confirmed to Sky Italia that he is Madrid only for the game, while Luka Modric has allegedly decided to stay at Real Madrid, as per Diario AS and Marca. Real Madrid will offer him an extension and a pay rise that will see him equalling the club's second highest earner - Sergio Ramos with 10 million euros salary.
