Alvaro Odriozola enjoyed his debut: 'I have been dreaming about this since I was young'
- The 22-year-old made his debut for Real Madrid after arriving in summer from Real Sociedad
- The right-back enjoyed his first match with the first team and felt like a part of the squad on the pitch
"I am very happy. It's a dream come true which I can't express in words right now. It's the highest honour in football to debut at the Bernabeu at this club," Odriozola said after the game against Espanyol.
"All three of our goalkeepers are super. The Mister decides and everyone does their best. I felt comfortable from the first minute. I was visualizing what could happen in the game, I was focused, on a mental level, and we also achieved the three points. So it's been great."
"Playing with the best players on the planet makes everything easier. They have advised me to be calm and to do what I had to do. We can not win every game 3-0, it was a difficult match but the team's work is there especially after a tiring match against Roma."
"Happy to be able to debut, the truth is that I have fulfilled a dream that many times you think will not come. Honestly, I have been dreaming about this since I was young and worked hard to be here, I am very happy, now I am going to enjoy and continue giving my best."
"Carvajal is one of the best in the world, he used to be my example and now I learn from him every day. The competition is always good. I was unlucky enough to injure myself but I responded well physically and for that I am very happy."
The Spanish right-back helped Real Madrid defeat Espanyol 1-0 in the fifth round of La Liga.
