Catalan press: Ajax duo want to play for 'only' Barcelona
- Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt are linked with a move to Camp Nou
- Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, Man City and Juventus are Barca's main rivals for Ajax youngsters
- Both De Jong and De Ligt will reportedly snub offers from other clubs as they want to join the Catalans
With Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid all keeping tabs on Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt, the duo are set to snub all offers as they've expressed a 'very clear' desire of joining Barcelona, as the front page of Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) claims.
The Ajax stars are almost sure about their Eredivisie departure next summer, however, they are refusing to join different clubs and both De Jong and De Ligt see Barca as the right club for their development.
Despite the alleged desire to play for the Catalans, Ernesto Valverde’s side haven't submitted any official offers for the Dutch duo so far. The Blaugrana are believed to be facing an insurmountable obstacle in their attempts to sign De Jong and De Ligt in terms of financial aspects.
Therefore, Barca are expected to go for only one of the duo, as it would be almost impossible to compete with Real Madrid, PSG and Man City in the race for both centre-back and midfielder.
Ajax are understood to demand at least €140 million for De Jong and De Ligt.
