Hakimi 'surprised' to see Isco on the bench
- The defender is currently on loan at BVB until 2020.
- Nevertheless, he follows closely his former teammates.
- He seems unhappy with Isco situation: 'It is surprising to see a great player on the bench.'
- Hakimi, however, admits: "If he [Solari] thinks that Isco does not have to play at this moment, it is because he does not deserve it."
Achraf Hakimi left Real Madrid for Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018. He signed a two-year loan deal with BVB where he has excelled greatly. He scored on his debut Bundesliga match and provided six assists with three of them arriving in a 4-0 Champions League demolition of Atletico Madrid.
Still, Hakimi is in touch with his former Blancos teammates, including Isco. The notorious case of the Spaniard is hard to forget: since Santiago Solari took over in the late October, the midfielder has lost his place in the starting line-up. He is only picked up for the less important games when the result doesn't matter.
In an interview with Marca, Hakimi admits he isn't enjoying this Isco incident: "Yes, it is surprising to see a great player on the bench, but it is the decision made by the manager and he believes it is the best for the team. I believe that, if he thinks that Isco does not have to play at this moment, it is because he does not deserve it. But it seems to me that Isco a great player and I would always put him in my team."

Isco, meanwhile, has grabbed interest from various top clubs, including Manchester City and Juventus. According to the Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Madrid would demand 100 million euros for the midfielder. Even though Isco has reportedly agreed on the Bianconeri move, Pep Guardiola's side could have an edge over other candidates due to their financial benefits.
