Which masterpiece is the best?
In 2002, Real Madrid won La Novena, the ninth Champions League trophy. They beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 in the final. Raul opened the scoring eight minutes following the kick-off, however, Lucio quickly denied Madrid's lead. Zinedine Zidane's fantastic strike just moments before the break settled the outcome of the game.
In 2018, however, the whole world anticipated the battle between Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid and Mohamed Salah's Liverpool. The Egyptian got injured just thirty minutes after the kick-off. Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the second half, but Sadio Mane quickly headed an equalizer. Finally, Gareth Bale is introduced as a substitute and scores his masterpiece to double Madrid's lead.
Eventually, Madrid won 3-1 and scooped their 13th Champions League trophy and third consecutive one.
