- Barca have reportedly agreed on contract terms with Luka Jovic, Frankfurt striker.
- Now, Barcelona have to negotiate a transfer fee with Frankfurt.
- The German club are yet to receive any offer from Barcelona.
- Real Madrid are also in the race for the forward, whom they see as future Benzema replacement.
It's has been reported for some time that Barcelona keep looking for a proper replacement for ageing Luis Suarez. One of the main candidates on Barca's radar is Eintracht Frankfurt striker, Luka Jovic who considered the perfect candidate to strengthen the Catalans' attack in summer.
According to the local - and very reliable - newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Jovic and Barcelona have 'largely agreed' on the terms of the contract. The next move for the Catalans to reach the agreement on the transfer fee for the striker. FAZ expect it to be at least not less when the sum Barca paid for Frenkie De Jong, i.e. 75 million euros plus variables.
The newspaper add that Frankfurt are yet to receive any official offer from Barcelona or any other club. They also report that Real Madrid, who are on the lookout for the Karim Benzema's future replacement, are also 'not completely out of the race' for Jovic.
The Serbian attacker appears to be 'frustrated' and 'distracted' when playing for his team as he has scored 'just' two goals in the three league games since the start of the year.
Jovic is officially on loan from Benfica until the summer of 2019, but Frankfurt have an option to buy the striker. This means that any club that want to get Jovic will need to negotiate with them and not the Portuguese giants.
Last season the 21-year-old made total 27 appearances for Frankfurt, scored nine goals and provided two assists. This season alone, however, he has already played 27 times in all competitions, netted 19 times and assisted on four other goals. He is also currently a top scorer in the Bundesliga with 14 goals. By the way, Jovic won the DFB Pokal and was included in Serbia squad to travel to Russia for the World Cup this year.
