Official: Marciniak to take charge of Real Madrid vs Ajax clash on Wednesday

Polish referee Szymon Marciniak will officiate the first leg of the Champions League round of the last 16 between Real Madrid and Ajax on February 13.
Interestingly, he is quite a familiar face for Real Madrid players as he took charge of the UEFA Supercup at the start of the season which Madrid lost 2-4 against Atletico. Marciniak also officiated England's 3-2 Nations League win over Spain not long ago.

Ajax are what you can call a lucky opponent for the Blancos as the previous games between the two teams have gone in favour of the champions of Europe, with Real Madrid putting together six consecutive wins over the Dutch side.
Another favourable fact for Real Madrid is that Karim Benzema scored in three of those six games during this run of victories.
