Benzema gifts his daughter signed match ball after beating Athletic
- Real Madrid beat Athletic, 3-0
- Karim Benzema knew all along he'd score in this match
- He told his daughter as much
- Benzema's team-mates signed the match ball congratulating the French striker and he gave the ball to his daughter
The 31-year-old was in the spotlight once again as he scored all of Real Madrid's goals in their 3-0 win over Bilbao last weekend.
Right after the game, Karim asked all of his team-mates to sign the ball he'd then give his daughter.
He told the club's official Twitter account: "Firstly, I'm very happy for the victory and secondly, for the goals."
'I'll give it [the ball] to my daughter. I told her yesterday that I would score three so this will be a present for her."
The ex-Lyon striker has now scored last eight goals for Blancos drawing praise from his compatriot, Zinedine Zidane:
"I know what a player Benzema is, everyone knows it. The number of goals he's scoring is incredible,' said Zidane. 'I'm made up for him."
"What he's doing here, and the fact he's two goals away from his best-ever goals tally, says it all. Everyone can have their opinion on who is the best No 9 in the world and for me it's Karim."
"He is confident, he knows you can always improve too, which is great. It doesn't surprise me what he's doing."
