MARCA: Zidane had no control over Navas' future at Real Madrid
- The promise of complete control over the club might've been forgotten by Florentino Perez.
- According to the source, Real Madrid board made the decision to offload Keylor before Zidane spoke to him.
- Navas was said to be touched by Zinedine's personal approach.
- The Frenchman reportedly couldn't control the board's choice.
Remember when Zinedine Zidane returned to Real Madrid? According to various sources at the time, the two main conditions the Frenchman had in order to come back were a big transfer budget for the summer overhaul and utter and complete control over the squad.
Assuming MARCA are telling the truth, some promises were broken. Keylor Navas met with Zinedine and was told that he needs to leave at the end of the season.
The outlet report that the decision to offload the Costa Rican was taken by Real Madrid board before Zidane could do anything to prevent it. Florentino Perez wants that complete overhaul and most likely will get it.
The 32-year-old is therefore expected to play his last game against Real Betis who'll be coming to the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday at midday. Keylor will be able to bid his farewell to the fans after five years of faithful service for Blancos.
Are we heading into another Zidane exit?
