Zidane scored THAT goal against Bayer Leverkusen 17 years ago
- Check out the amazing strike from Zinedine which gave Real Madrid the 9th UCL title in 2002.
- The Frenchman is a proven legend of football - as a player and now a manager.
- This goal against Bayer Leverkusen is seen as one of the best in the Champions League history.
Seventeen years ago on May 15, we faced Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the Champions League at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The match ended in a 2-1 triumph for Los Blancos and brought us the ninth European trophy.
When people remember that game they talk not so much of the victory itself but the out-of-this-world goal by our current manager. Zinedine Zidane is one of those footballers that resembled a whole era of this beautiful game.
After having a career that could only be called amazing, the Frenchman went on coaching his old team and won three Champions League trophies back-to-back.
His legacy is already massive at Real Madrid. And that goal in 2002 is one of his very best highlights. Enjoy this spectacular strike from our boss.
