Zidane evaluates Lunin: 'He is doing well and I think we made the right decision for him'
- The young keeper received a chance for the manager against Fenerbahce.
- Andriy began the second half with an unfortunate fail which ended in a conceded goal.
- However, he was pretty good for the remainder of the match.
- Zinedine seemingly trusts the Ukrainian and doesn't rule out keeping him in the squad.
Zinedine Zidane gave quiet praise to our young goalkeeper Andriy Lunin: "We'll look at his situation when we get back to Madrid. It is important to know what a player is thinking. He played his role and he is one for the future. He is doing well and I think we made the right decision for him."
According to Diario AS, Lunin is wanted by Real Sociedad on loan for the 2019-2020 season. The goalkeeper can't expect to have a prominent role at Real Madrid during the next campaign and it would be logical to change teams in order to actually have some practice instead of waiting on the sidelines.
Marca claimed earlier that Keylor Navas is not going anywhere. He reportedly refused to leave Real Madrid despite understanding that he won't be the club's first-choice goalkeeper. Thibaut Courtois remains our No.1 next season, according to multiple previous reports.
This makes Real Madrid rethink their initial plans for the future. Marca insisted that the decision is to send Andriy Lunin on loan once again instead of keeping him as an understudy. Lunin spent last season with Leganes and it is likely that he will return to their team in 2019-2020.
Although, he has options to choose from. The report claimed Real Betis are also interested in the talented keeper. As soon as Lunin goes on loan, Diego Altube will be named Real Madrid's third-choice goalkeeper.
