Fabrizio Romano provides major update on Van de Beek pursuit
- Ajax don't want to sell the 22-year-old.
- The player himself is 'pushing' for a move to the Bernabeu.
According to Sky Italia's Fabrizio Romano, a tier 1 transfer source, Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek is pushing for a move to Real Madrid. The 22-year-old has emerged as a target for the Blancos this summer as an alternative for Man United's Paul Pogba.
"Van de Beek is pushing with Ajax directors to join Real Madrid," Romano tweeted on Tuesday.
"Not easy because Ajax don’t want to sell him," Romano replied when asked it the Dutchman will eventually sign for the Blancos until September 2.
Ajax manager Erik ten Hag hopes the 22-year-old will continue at the Eredivisie champions in the 2019/20 but doesn't rule out his exit in the following weeks.
