OFFICIAL: Andriy Lunin joins Real Valladolid on loan
- The deal has been completed.
- Lunin will represent Real Valladolid during the 2019-2020 season.
- The keeper was seen in the city on Tuesday to finalise the move.
- Takefusa Kubo might join the goalkeeper at the same La Liga side.
Real Madrid and Real Valladolid have confirmed the signing of Andriy Lunin on a season-long loan. The youngster has joined Dani Ceballos, Jesus Vallejo, Martin Odegaard, Sergio Reguilon, Borja Mayoral and Javi Sanchez on the list of our loaned players.
The goalkeeper will be hoping to receive minutes and have a more prominent role in the team. His previous loan spell at Leganes wasn't successful in terms of playing time. The Ukranian is set to return to Real Madrid after the 2019-2020 season ends.
There was no reason to assume that the youngster wanted to be a third-choice and spend the whole season on the bench. Real Madrid haven't done anything about Keylor Navas and therefore, the youngster has joined another Spanish side.
According to Marca, Lunin and Takefusa Kubo might play together at Valladolid. The two are said to have a great relationship ever since the Japanese player joined Los Blancos. Should Kubo's loan get finalised before the season starts, it would be a much more comfortable spell for Andriy and him due to the already established connection.
