Tottenham keeper Lloris: 'Areola joined the most prestigious club in the world'
- The Spurs shot-stopper is happy for Alphonse.
- Hugo understands the pressure of Real Madrid and big expectations.
- Lloris thinks that being next to Courtois will help Areola evolve further.
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has commented on his compatriot moving to Real Madrid on loan: "Of course, we exchanged [before Alphonse Areola joined Los Blancos]. What we said remains between us. We must take the thing very positively, he will join the most prestigious club in the world.
"After Buffon, Areola will share his daily life with Courtois. We know the expectations at Real Madrid, we must always respond and he will certainly have the chance to evolve under his new colours," added Hugo.
The loan keeper has a potential chance to compete with Courtois. The Belgian was injured during the last season and there's no guarantee that Thibaut will be available and fit for the whole 2019-2020 campaign. Also, Alphonse is no stranger to La Liga, having already played for Villarreal in the 2015/16 season with 37 outings and 32 goals conceded.
