Dortmund director Zorc: 'Hakimi will return to Real Madrid this summer'
- The German club's director knows he will have to let the right-back leave.
- Nevertheless, he still talks about him staying like it's possible.
- Michael Zorc noticed the fact that Hakimi developed at Dortmund, not Real Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund will have to say goodbye to our loanee at the end of the season. No matter how much their director Michael Zorc would like him to stay longer, Real Madrid are adamant in their desire to bring Achraf Hakimi back.
"I always like to stick to the facts. According to the contract, Hakimi will return to Real Madrid this summer because his affiliation contract will take effect on July 1," said Zorc.
"We are in contact with him and Real. Everything else will become clear in the spring.
"Of course, we would like to see Hakimi with us longer, it's clear too. But we cannot influence it alone. I think Achraf knows very well what development he has experienced with us.
"He has developed well here, not elsewhere."
According to an earlier report by Diario AS, Madrid have declined Dortmund's proposition to sign the right-back permanently. Los Blancos want to see the player at the Santiago Bernabeu and the Bundesliga club will have to deal with that.
Hakimi has been simply amazing this season with his performances promising a serious competition for Dani Carvajal. Considering Alvaro Odriozola's problems this campaign, Hakimi is needed at the Bernabeu.
The loanee defender has managed to score 6 goals and made 6 assists in 26 appearances this season so far.
Do you think Hakimi can bench Carvajal?
