Bayern's interest in Coutinho confirmed by Barcelona spokesman
- Barca spokesman says: "There is interest from FC Bayern, but there is no agreement."
- Wednesday's edition of German top source Kicker name Coutinho among other candidates to bolster Bayern's attack.
- Still, the Brazilian could end up at PSG as part of the Neymar deal.
Philippe Coutinho is stuck in a limbo nowadays. The Brazilian is considered to be Barcelona's main candidate to be offloaded. However, they have failed to secure his return to England as the Premier League transfer window shut down this Thursday, August 8.
Bayern Munich have recently emerged as the major contenders to land the Brazilian. If the deal works out, Coutinho could get the much-desired exit. The Bavarians are also financially able to cover his huge salary.
Moreover, Bayern's alleged interest has been reported by various top sources, including an unnamed Barcelona spokesman. He is quoted by Goal as saying: "There is interest from FC Bayern, but there is no agreement. That is all there is to say at the moment."
Apart from that, Wednesday's edition of highly influential German top source Kicker also confirm Bayern's interest in Coutinho. Gareth Bale, Paulo Dybala, Philippe Coutinho, as well as his Barcelona partner Ousmane Dembele, are all listed as the potential candidates to bolster Bayern's attack. The Frenchman, however, is said to be non-transferable.
If Coutinho remains at Barcelona, this would certainly mean an end to the Neymar's infamous pursuit. The midfielder is one of the best-paid footballers at the club which makes Neymar's arrival almost impossible due to economic difficulties.
Still, the neverending Neymar's transfer saga could hold a key to Coutinho's future. The midfielder is said to be included Coutinho in the exchange deal to return the prodigal son back, as per multiple sources, including L'Equipe.
