Liverpool’s ultimate ambition is to sign Mbappe
- Mbappe's current contract at Parc des Princes runs out in 2022.
- He's been linked with Liverpool and Real Madrid.
- Liverpool have never been afraid to spend big, so Kyllian remains an 'ultimate ambition'.
- Jurgen Klopp, however, insists that landing Mbappe doesn't look realistic.
According to the latest report from The Telegraph, Kylian Mbappe remains Liverpool's ‘ultimate ambition’ and a dream signing.
The Reds have shown before they are not afraid to spend big but this time around they'll have to break their transfer record as PSG would most likely demand over £200m for the 20-year-old, whose current contract runs out in 2022.
Klopp used to be interested in signing Mbappe to Liverpool from AS Monaco two years ago. The German met Kylian's family members but failed to convince them and eventually, Mbappe joined PSG, first on loan and then on a £160m permanent transfer.
And while the Reds still remain linked, Klopp hardly believes the deal will ever come through: "Buying this calibre of player is difficult. I don’t see any club at the moment who can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG. I don’t see any club, that is how it is. And we are involved in the clubs that cannot do it. It is as easy as that."
This term, the France international has scored 9 and set up 4 goals in 12 outings across all competitions.
