Pro-Catalan demonstration took place in Rome before the kick-off
Rome's one of the biggest squares, Piazza Venezia was turned into a place for demonstrations on Tuesday afternoon.
Several groups of Barcelona fans unveiled a special banner which was devoted to the Catalan political prisoners. There were also Catalan flags and chants 'freedom, freedom!' and 'independence!'
Barcelona fans were quite vocal in their demands. They want freedom for the political activists and independence for their native Catalonia.
There were just 100 people involved in this demonstration.
The first leg between Barcelona and Roma also saw yellow balloons thrown onto the field as a political manifesto.
Can this repeated political actions from the fans somehow hurt Barcelona's image as a club?
