United fans continue to chant the Romelu Lukaku song despite being urged by the player not to do
Anti-discrimination group Kick It Out this week claimed that the chant, which suggests that Lukaku has 'a 24-inch penis', is 'offensive and discriminatory' for using the ethnic stereotype that black men have large penises.
United supporters still aired the song at St Mary's as they faced Southampton on Saturday. Fans then chanted 'we'll sing what we want' to make their opinion on the ban clear.
United could face disciplinary action after the chant was sung again - with the FA able to fine the Red Devils or even force them to play behind closed doors.
Section Three of the Football (Offences) Act 1991 declares chanting of an indecent or racialist nature is an offence. 'Racialist nature' is defined as "consisting of or including matter which is threatening, abusive or insulting to a person by reason of his colour, race, nationality or ethnic or national origins."
