6 players who put up an amazing performance in the Champions League final: ratings
What a night for Madridistas!
Sergio Ramos 7
Real Madrid captain did his job. He gave his team the appearance of the worst, unbeatable enemy that is ready for everything to reach their goal. Ramos annoyed Liverpool's strikers trying to throw them off and he succeeded as Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were rather dull in front of the Whites' goal tonight. The centre-back was exceptional at the back too, consistently repelling Liverpool's long balls and crosses to keep Keylor Navas' goal safe.
Key stat: 3 clearances.
That was exactly the Marcelo we all know and love! The Brazilian left-back (or forward?) had time for attack and defence in Kyiv being great at both. Mohamed Salah wasn't able to create anything against Marcelo in his 30 minutes before coming off due to an injury. After losing such a fearsome opponent Real Madrid's defender could focus on his offensive responsibilities even more and his increasing attacking activity resulted in two assists converted by the extraordinary Gareth Bale.
Key stat: 3 key passes.
Los Blancos' midfield pillar was once again a key figure for his side. Real Madrid with and without Casemiro are two different teams - that has been proved long ago and Zinedine Zidane was lucky this time as he was able to count on the Brazilian talent to slow down the opponents' attacks and offer appropriate help to the main creators of Real Madrid's football. You don't really notice Casemiro on the field a lot but his importance for Real Madrid is obvious when looking at his workload in every match he plays.
Key stats: 2 blocked shots, 2 aerials won.

Luka Modric 8
Another superb performance from the Croatian master. The speed with which Luka Modric decides where to pass, how to pass and when to pass is simply incomprehensible. Modric is a true controller of the game and Zidane's deputy on the pitch as he knows how Real Madrid should behave at any given moment. His link with Toni Kroos has completely outplayed Liverpool's midfield and showed why the Whites are celebrating tonight and the Reds are going home in tears.
Key stat: 94% passing accuracy.
Gareth Bale 10
Are there any words to describe our Welsh forward tonight? He has proved everything to everybody and there will be no one to doubt Bale from now on. He came on in the 60th minute of the game and literally brought Real Madrid the Champions League title with two great individual efforts: an incredible scissor-kick that amazed every living soul at the Olimpiyskiy stadium in Kyiv and a powerful long-range strike to add to Loris Karius woes of the evening. Bale finally did what Madrid fans were expecting since his arrival in the Spanish capital - he became the main star of Real Madrid.
Key stat: 2 shots - 2 goals.
1 - Gareth Bale is the first substitute to score a brace in an European Cup/Champions League final. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/nKgKRTvsha— OptaJose (@OptaJose) May 26, 2018
Karim Benzema 8
The French forward wasn't as exquisite and spectacular as his friend with the No.11 on the back but he worked hard and his efforts and constant attention paid off. Karim Benzema was on the watch for opponents' mistakes and got the best out of Loris Karius' inexplicable mistake. No matter how funny and weird his goal was, Karim gave Madrid the much-needed confidence on their way to the trophy. The striker was solid throughout the game as well linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco putting pressure on Liverpool defence.
1 - Karim Benzema is the first French player to score in a Champions League final since Zinédine Zidane in 2002, both for Real Madrid. Monsieur. pic.twitter.com/uH6OFLdEYn— OptaJose (@OptaJose) May 26, 2018
Key stat: 4 shots, 2 on target.
