- After resigning from Real Madrid, Zidane denied taking 24 million euros as part of his valid contract
After resigning, Zidane refused to take a huge sum of money from the club.
Having two more years of his valid contract at Real Madrid, the Frenchman was expected to get 24 million euros (€12m for each season). However, Zinedine denied taking the money and ended his coaching experience in Madrid without getting any extra financial support.
This is actually not the first time Zidane made something similar: while being a player, the French forward gave up 6 million euros clean, although he had one year left on his contract at Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane was appointed as Real Madrid manager back in January 2017. Since then, and up to May 2018, he won 3 UEFA Champions League titles and 1 La Liga trophy. 105 out of 149 overall games were won.
