The Blues internationals' roundup: Abraham scores, but England U21s to exit after group stage

The Young Blues featured heavily in England U21s' 4-2 defeat to Romania which guaranteed the team's exit after the group stage.

Jake Clarke-Salter, Fikayo Tomori and Jay Dasilva made their second appearance in the starting XI. MasonMount who had started the first game against France on the bench was in the team, too.

The only Blue missing was Tammy Abraham, as manager Aidy Boothroyd preferred other strikers, Dominic Solanke in the first game, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the second.

After losing 2-1 to France, England had to beat Romania to have a chance to qualify for the semifinal.

However, it was Romania who had more opportunities to score. At the 85th minute, the score was 2-1 in Romania's favour.

Then, it was Abraham's time. The striker who had replaced Dasilva ten minutes before that sent home a neat pass from Mason Mount and gave the Three Lions hope.

However, England conceded again thanks to goalkeeper's mistake. Abraham had two chances to score again, but the opponents' keeper and the bar denied him. Romanians, on the contrary, put another goal in Dean Henderson's net.

England's last game in the competition will take place on Monday when they take on Croatia who have also lost their two previous games. After that, our players can have a rest before a season that can be a landmark in their career at Chelsea.
