'He's faked an injury. I find that insulting': Moyes slams Mendy again

 after VAR chalked off what would be a last-minute equaliser for the Hammers.

If anything, it might be a slight trailing foot, but the goalkeeper has already dropped the ball. He's faked a shoulder injury. It didn't affect him last 15 minutes.

"I find that insulting. I don't send my teams out to do that."

While it could be debated whether Bowen intended to hurt Mendy, the contact was visible on the TV, and Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Mendy is in a lot of pain and in doubt for the next game.

The Hammers equalised late in the game through Cornet, but their goal was chalked off by VAR. The system decided that 

"It is a scandalous decision, absolutely rotten from one of the supposedly elite referees," Moyes told Sky Sports.

"It doesn't say much about whoever sent him over from VAR as well. It is an unbelievable decision against us.

"The goalkeeper comes to take it and fumbles it out of his hands. Then he acted as if it was a shoulder injury. 

"I'm amazed that VAR sent the referee to the screen. It was a ridiculously bad decision.

"Today there is no excuse for that not to be a goal, none whatsoever. The sad thing is that this is the level of our elite refereeing at the moment.

"They've got new people in charge who are trying to do something. I've lost faith in them today in the people who are putting up for VAR. After watching it, I can't see how the goal was not given.

"The referees said they were going to cut back on soft challenges and that was unbelievably soft.

"Referees can make mistakes. I do not see that in a million years. I'm more embarrassed for the guy in VAR than the referee because that's telling me someone who doesn't understand football and shouldn't be near the game if that is enough to put someone near the screen."

The goalkeeper was out of action for a while as he took a hit from Bowen, with Tuchel confirming Edou picked up an injury.

"He was in a lot of pain, we have to see, it’s too early to comment on it," 

"I think he’s at the moment a bit unlucky. In training he’s fantastic, he’s in general a very calm, very self-reflective guy who is aware that he lacks a little bit of luck at the moment. Things do no go in his favour. 

"He has situations where if it’s not 100 per cent clear because of his actions he gets punished massively.

"He’s just in this moment, it feels like it’s not so much his fault. I have a feeling that he tries everything, he’s very focused and we will keep on supporting him."

Mendy has made plenty of errors since the beginning of the season. Against West Ham, he was at fault for the Hammers' opener as he palmed the ball away after a corner instead of punching it. The ball landed at Rice's feet who then assisted Antonio.

Edou was unlucky with an injury as he was hit by Jarrod Bowen, who tried to jump over him in order to avoid a collision. The collision was given as a foul and it led to West Ham's equaliser getting disallowed, with Chelsea winning the game 2-1.

Absolutely. Football has rules that requires one plays by it. In a situation whereby a rule is violation as a result of an infringement, whether intended or not but it appears there was a touch and the other react to it enough to convince the referee, then it's the duty of the referee to act positively to exercise that right to reprimand the violator so that such incidents shouldn't repeat itself on a field without getting punished. We have always seen penalties given due to a light touch by players. We have even seen dives from players forcing a penalty or free kicks. Therefore I wonder why this clear foul on Mendy has become a thing to start hating on someone. Believe me where it to be another club it won't be like this.

The only correction that I'll make to your contribution is that most of these faceless guys you see sounding contrite and neutral arent Chelsea fans, I'm sure most are closet Arsenal fans thinking that the downfall of Chelsea translated to Arsenal wining the EPL after 18 years!

I ask such people, if as Bowen was jumping over Mendy and Mendy"s hand accidentally touched his feet and he faked a fall, won't Mendy be booked and a penalty awarded to West Ham?!

CHELSEA Football Club and it’s fans have nothing to feel guilty about. 
Of the 4 biggest clubs in the EPL (City, United, Liverpool and us), we get the least preferential treatment from the FA and VAR. 

Bowen hit Mendy whose head was exposed going for the ball. 

They also fail to mention the first goal which was offsides. 
Enjoys the 3 points and onto the next game.

I have no clue why Fans are saying VAR helped us... It was a clear Foul and therefore VAR suggested on field refree to have a look.... Yes, Chelsea doesn't get this luck to have VAR on Neutral decisions but only against it... But the decision was clear to me... Foul, and Mendy couldn't get up to make another save... Simple...

Even if it is a Fake, why should it be treated specially... Every Player fakes like this to get a Penalty or a Free kick...

And top it off, why doesn't Fans talk about the Fouls made by Antonio on Silva... He was on a Yellow and still he was lucky not to get another for pulling Silva by Elbow... WHU should be playing with 10 men before 0-0 scoreline.

And  last thing to say is... I don't care what Moyes says... If this thing happened to his goalkeeper with no VAR support, he would saying against Refreeing... Thats the TRUTH...

You won't compare Tottenham incident with this very one because there was a clear contact on the goalkeeper by Bowen and any contact on the goalkeeper must be called. So Mr moyes should keep quiet

It's not same. This one we rightfully deserve it. Besides Anthonio wasn't suppose to be on pitch after that foul on Silva. There wasn't even a review of VAR by it.

what i am saying is Tottenham equaliser shouldn't have stood because there was a foul in the build up, cucurella was fouled!
