During his years at Chelsea, Willian was a controversial figure among some fans. However, most of them fondly look back at his time at the club now.
On Saturday, the Stamford Bridge audience sang the famous 'He hates Tottenham' chant and gave the Brazilian an ovation as he prepared to take a corner.
After the game, Willian acknowledged the Chelsea fans while also expressing disappointment over the 1-0 defeat.
He posted on Instagram: "Today wasn’t the result we wanted, but it was a very special day for me, to be back at the Bridge a place of great memories.
"Thanks for the support Fulham fans and I also want to thank Chelsea fans you were always amazing with me."
In seven years at Chelsea, Willian won five major trophies, including two Premier League titles.
