Jackson opened the scoring early with a smart flick which changed the direction of Palmer's shot, putting it past Dubravka. Isak levelled the score for Toon after a Disasi mistake shortly before half-time.
Palmer struck from outside the box to give Chelsea the lead again and substitute Mudryk scored a brilliant individual goal to make it 3-1. Murphy pulled one back for the Magpies in the 90th minute.
According to Sofascore, Chelsea created better scoring opportunities than Newcastle: their xG is 1.57 to 0.74. The Blues had significantly more shots on targets than the visitors, eight to three.
The Magpies failed to create a single big scoring chance, while Chelsea had three. They finished two of them (Jackson and Mudryk) and missed one (yes, Sterling, we're looking at you).
So a 'fair' scoreline would have been 2-1 or 1-0. It was a deserved Chelsea win. Keep things up lads!
