'The team should be a meritocracy': Chelsea fans voice their biggest issue with Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling was easily the worst player on the pitch during Chelsea's 4–2 win against Leicester City at the weekend.

After the FA Cup clash, the 29-year-old (or his PR Team) went on social media to apologise for his performance and the penalty miss.

However, Chelsea supporters want the player to understand that their criticism or not just about one game or his penalty miss against the Foxes.

Banged_by_bumrah (all reactions via /r/ChelseaFC): "The fact that this guy thinks the boos were because of the missed penalty and not his general attitude and selfishness says it all."

Baisabeast: "For me, it feels like Sterling plays for himself and not for his teammates or for the club."

mb194dc: "He should be benched. Other players are contributing more. The team should be a meritocracy."

Ok-Suit-8865: "I'd have forgiven him if he wasn't the most selfish player I've seen in Chelsea history!"

Longjumping_Ad_8474: "I was at Newcastle game. He simply refused to pass to Palmer for the tap-in. Then taking the ball off him yesterday TWICE to miss clear goal chance."
