Mauricio Pochettino explains why he left Raheem Sterling out of Chelsea XI vs Burnley

Despite public claims of trust, Mauricio Pochettino has decided to leave Raheem Sterling on the bench for the Burnley game after the winger's poor performance against Leicester.

Before the game, the coach said: "Raheem Sterling is on the bench today and that's the situation but we know he is ready to help the team when he comes on, we really believe in him."

This is just the fifth time that Sterling was left on the bench for a Premier League game this season.

In his absence, Mykhailo Mudryk will have a chance to stake his claim for a regular place in the lineup.
