Xavi 'unhappy' with Barca for offloading one player this summer – not Fati

Xavi was unhappy that Barcelona allowed Eric Garcia to leave the club this summer, according to Javi Miguel.

The Barcelona gaffer had two main reasons why he wanted the club to keep Garcia despite his desire to leave:

1. Xavi loved Garcia for his versatility. The defender could play in midfield if needed, as was seen last season.

2. Xavi also needed the Spaniard to strengthen the defensive depth in the squad as both Araujo and Christensen have proven to be injury-prone lately.

In the end, Garcia signed for Girona on a season-long loan. If the defender does well in the city, his place at Barca is assured just like Ansu Fati, as Xavi highly values the pair.
