Can Girona best defender Eric Garcia play against parent club Barca?

Indeed, Eric Garcia will play against Barcelona when his Girona team travels to the Olympic Stadium next Sunday.

Recall that Barcelona loaned Garcia to Girona at the start of the season on a one-year deal. But there's no 'fear clause' preventing the defender from playing against his parent club this season.

Garcia has been a revelation since moving to Girona with some swashbuckling performances that have propelled the Catalan club to the top of the league; they're only behind Real Madrid on goal difference. I dare say he's been their best defender this season.

Girona are not big on clean sheets with just five in 15 games so far. But their defence, with Garcia featuring on 12 occasions, barely concedes more than one goal per game. They've won all but two games when Garcia was on the pitch.

Besides Girona's reasonably solid defence, they also bamboozle and destroy their opponent with their superb attacking display. That was seen in games against Granada, Almeria and Mallorca — those games ended 4-2, 5-3 and 5-2 respectively, in favour of Girona.
