Lamine Yamal starts today at the Bernabeu for Barcelona. He's 16 years and 283 days old and is the second-youngest player to start at El Clasico.
Second? But who is the youngest then, you might ask.
It's Vicenc Martinez, a full-back who started his first (and only) Clasico aged 16 years and 280 days. Back in October last year, Lamine beat Vicenc's record by becoming the youngest player to feature — but not to start — in El Clasico.
Curiously, Martinez managed only seven appearances for Barcelona. But his name has remained in the club's history books for almost a century — he set his record for being the youngest starter in El Clasico in 1941!
