Ancelotti refuses to support Vinicius' childish behaviour against Celta – what happened

In the second of Real Madrid's big win against Celta Vigo, Vinicius Jr. received a needless yellow card for shoving defender Oscar Mingueza to the floor.

Mingueza had hauled down Vini by grabbing his shirt while the Brazilian was racing through on goal.

Vinicius got up and angrily shoved Mingueza to the floor.

Thus, instead of showing only Mingueza a yellow card, the referee handed one more to Vini for his childish behaviour.

In his post-match comments, Carlo Ancelotti refused to back Vinicius for his reaction.

"The referee's decision was correct to show both of them a yellow card," Ancelotti said.

"What I would tell Vinicius stays between us. It's a topic that we have talked about and will continue to talk about.

"It's not just Vini Jr.'s problem. In recent times we have received many bookings and that affects the team. In that aspect, we have to improve,” the boss concluded.

According to Movistar, Mingueza told Vini that his foul was a tactical foul, which makes sense. It was frustrating but not violent and didn't warrant such an angry reaction from the Brazilian superstar. Vini could've easily avoided getting into trouble for that.

That was Vini's seventh yellow card of the season after 27 games. Ancelotti is right, the player must work on his attitude on the pitch.
