There's no question about it anymore. After that game against Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday, the debate on who should start for Real Madrid in the Champions League final is over — it has to be Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois made a staggering 10 saves to record another clean sheet and help Madrid win 5-0.
"I feel very good. I understand that there are people who may doubt how you come back, but I know that I was going to come back strong. I'm still the same Courtois or even better," Courtois said after the game.
"I will continue working to improve. Maybe I needed a game like today, with a lot of shots. Against Cadiz there was a one-on-one and a long shot and against Granada it was more footwork.
"Today there were many shots and I needed those close, fast and reflex shots. I am very proud of the stop on the bottom left.
"What I have trained for so long now comes out on the field and we have to continue working with Llopis," Courtois added.
Andriy Lunin has been immense in Courtois absence but with due respect to him Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world as Carlo Ancelotti said.
