Bukayo Saka – 8.5
Saka was pumped up by the occasion and turned out to be a nightmare for Alphonso Davies. Troubled Bayern with his slick movement, getting into dangerous areas and creating some nice chances. Put Arsenal in the lead with a great goal before also playing a part in the build-up of the second. Seemingly robbed of a late penalty too.
Martin Odegaard – 8
The Arsenal captain might not have been directly involved in any goals, but he wore his heart on his sleeve and worked his socks off. Was the ultimate driving force, be it playing balls forward or pressing the Bayern players to win back possession – making two tackles and two interceptions. Created five goal-scoring chances and was unlucky not to get an assist.
Gabriel Jesus – 7.5
Jesus silenced his doubters by producing a brilliant substitute outing. Torubeld the Bayern backline with his movement and produced some stunning trickery to set up Trossard’s goal.
Leandro Trossard – 7.5
Trossard proved just how clutch he can be with a fantastic substitute display. Got in the right place before producing a beautiful finish for the equalizer and raised the temp of Arsenal’s attacks with his clever passing and dribbling.
Declan Rice – 5
Rice was a bit underwhelming in his first-ever Champions League quarter-final. A bit rash with his decision-making caused him to drift out of positions and not being able to track Bayern’s runners in the counter-attacks. Somewhat improved in the second half, but lacked his creative influence and couldn’t be defensively as sharp as he is.
Jakub Kiwior – 4
Kiwior had a poor first half, being ruffled by the pace of Leroy Sane in the Bayern counter-attacks. Lacked the proper positional sense, often getting into the wrong positions and was totally overwhelmed before the Bayern penalty. Taken off at half-time.
David Raya – 4
Raya seemed a bit too overly eager to impress and that caused him on the night. He poorly came out of his goal to cause confusion leading to the equalizer and too easily ousted for Kane’s penalty. Nearly conceded from his front post late on and his passing wan’t on point either – succeeding in completing only one long ball.
