Romelu Lukaku has enjoyed a brilliant start to life at Roma, scoring seven goals in eight games across Serie A and Europa League for his new team.
The Belgian has used his stellar performances to take aim at his critics and doubters.
The striker said, as quoted by Sempre Inter: “I’m a professional. I worked during the summer. There was a lot of talk about me, but I don’t like to talk.
“I prove on the pitch what I can give to a team. Today things went well.”
Here are a few examples of Lukaku talking:
'It was a mistake': Lukaku delivers verdict on his Chelsea spell
'Cut ties, no more tries': Romelu Lukaku takes apparent swipe at Chelsea on Instagram
Lukaku: 'I hope to return to Inter, not at the end of my career'
Lukaku: 'I'm not happy with situation at Chelsea, Tuchel chose to play with another system'
So it's funny to hear Romelu saying that doesn't like to talk. He certainly didn't do his talking on the pitch with Chelsea.
The 30-year-old is on a season-long loan with Roma. His contract with Chelsea expires in 2026.
