Sven Mislintat, the man nicknamed the Diamond eye for his ability to ability to spot talent, has emerged as the strongest candidate to replace Julian Ward as Liverpool's sporting director, per Sky Sports Germany.
Mislintat worked closely with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund before the former left Germany for Arsenal.

The 50-year-old returned to Germany in 2019 and has been the sporting director of Stuttgart ever since.
The relationship between Klopp and Mislintat may play in a key role if the German aficionado is to take over the vacant role at Anfield.
A new sporting director will provide some stability at Liverpool, particularly in terms of news signings in January and in the summer.
