'I could do that blinfolded!': Bergkamp picks his favourite goal ... but it's not the Newcastle one
Dennis Bergkamp has scored some truly brilliant goals during his career for club and country, no two ways about it.
Many consider his strike vs Newcastle not just the Dutchman's greatest goal but the best goal ever scored in the Premier League.
Dennis himself has other ideas on what his top goal was though: he picked the strike during the 1998 World Cup vs Argentina as top of the heap.
"Argentina (in the 1998 World Cup quarter-final) was more special for me. It’s the experience of so many hours of controlling balls, finishing, footwork, balance," he told the Daily Mail.
"I call it being comfortable on the ball. I didn’t have to look for the ball at my feet. I knew it was there. I could do that blindfolded."
Here's the goal he is talking about (you'll need the 2:50 mark on the video below):
That's certainly a brilliant finish but we simply cannot leave it here and not post his Newcastle strike once again. Enjoy.
