A bit of a let-off in a disappointing defeat
By Victor Raul Puobabangna Plance from Eggu in the Upper West Region of Ghana
This was always going to be a difficult game on the back of the performances of both teams of late and considering Chelsea FC have a few injury and fitness concerns. A win would have seen us go top at least for the rest of the Saturday games until Sunday when both Tottenham Hotspur FC and Liverpool FC play. So, the expectation to perform and get all maximum points was always there and expected. It, however, did not go to plan.
This game was a bit of a let-off despite the good performances and dominance from the team. The early penalty conceded was the game-changer, unfortunately. No one saw that coming or even expected that. One we cannot fault anyone considering such situations do happen and we might, unfortunately, be seeing such during the season.
I must say it was an off day for us in terms of chances created and our goal conversion rate and accuracy. Disappointingly enough, a few players of ours did not come into the game. They were virtually missing and bottled it, to say the least. With a nine-match unbeaten streak and considering the performances we have produced over the course of the season; this game is simply an unpardonable let off despite putting in a good performance. This makes it only one win in our last seven (7) visits. Very poor.
Without sounding overly defeatist and hard on the players, I must say they at least fought hard until the blast of the final whistle. It just was not our day. Apart from the positives in our high pressing and fast-moving (pacy) of the ball in our quest to get an equalizer and if possible, win the game, the other notable positives were the play of Reece James and Kante. These two put in extra efforts throughout the game and deserve applause even in defeat. That not said, let us take it easy on our players considering where we have come from. We must manage our expectations for now. No blame games. They all did well, and I cannot wait to see how they bounce back in our next game on Tuesday.
Still, we are in the process of building a formidable side. This is just a hiccup and certainly not a dent in either our confidence or work. We will get there. Sad inevitably but hopefully for what the future holds for the team. We might need to reflect on the game and make amends. Believe!
Long Live Chelsea FC and God bless us all. Blues for Life.

I’m so pleased with your write up, the players fought till the last seconds, that what we need, we can’t win all the matches we just have to keep supporting the players, they are doing the best they can as humans.
Incredible attention to details as always, dear Plance Victor Raul Puobabangna 👏 To be honest, I really didn't realise that we have only one win in 7 away games vs Everton. We have to fix that somehow. I have shared your blog on our main newsfeed, and I'd also like to thank you for your blog, as we really appreciate your contribution to the blogging platform, we're already looking forward to your next one!
good write up! COYB💙
