FSG, The revolving door argument, in or out?
So 2 trophies done and dusted, then City slip up and bring us right back into the title race, and even leave Stevie G with a chance of winning the league for us in the final game of the season, plus a Champions League final to contend too.
The summer transfer window is looming, so this means that many fans will have meltdowns, as they'll feel with a successful season we should be splashing cash in the next window, so this brings me to the question. Is the FSG out argument a dead one or is it still alive and kicking?
Well firstly, even if we somehow managed to win the unmentionable, it begins with quad, and ends in ruple, that doesn't mean we will have 100m extra for this coming summer. Any winnings wouldn't be recieved until next season.
Now I know some fans are thinking that all 4 titles would be worth much much more than £100m, but they're really not. When you take all the payments that our club would've gotten anyway away from the total income from winning tournaments, it's actually not all that much.
Winning the PL is only worth an extra 28m to a club, that would buy you salahs right foot. Same goes for all the competitions we enter, there are no huge payouts.
The biggest earner from these competitions is by playing in as many games possible, as the TV money is far greater than the winnings. Anyway, I've written all that so I can say, we can't start asking where the winnings are gone until January at the earliest. As that's about when we would begin to receive the extra cash.
It's honestly a very frustrating exercise to be a Liverpool fan during the transfer window, so much so we all often wanna scream and shout at, or even punch our tvs and devices, so I'm not gonna say it isn't or that I don't get extremely annoyed with our transfer strategy at times, but, it's been proven time and time again, so it's hard to argue with it even if none of us like it.
Plus 90% of the business we do manage to get done turns out to be better than perfect.
Then, if we look at the infrastructure that's been put in place, and the current work taking place at Anfield too, it's very hard to hold up the argument of "they're tight fisted owners who only wanna line their pockets off the back of the club".
They've given us world class facilities across the board and turned Anfield into one of the most beautiful stadiums and surrounding areas in football, while maintaining its heart and soul.
Don't get me wrong, all this has been done with a view to eventually earning money, but this is business, so the owners of a business wanting to make a few pound shouldn't be an issue for anyone.
Would you own and operate a business but didn't make one penny from it? I'm gonna say no, as what would be the point.
Let's not forget all the clusterfucks though, as yes, our owners have managed to give us a few of those too. The two most memorable of which being the Furlough scheme and then the Super League. I'm not saying they're the only 2 disasters they created, just they're the 2 most notable.
I also spoke with my fellow user admin Christian, he strongly believes that Linda Pizzuti doesn't do any top less pictures, so that's a huge negative too.
Many users believe that I'm Pro FSG, I'm not! I'm not anti FSG either, I'm pro Liverpool FC. I'm all for anything that's good for our club and I have slammed FSG in the past, but I've also supported them when I felt they were keeping the clubs best interests as the deciding factor in any decisions. I'd like to think I have a balanced and informed view of them.
So this all leads me to this, is the FSG Out brigade right? Is it a valid argument anymore? I haven't given my view as I want to know what you think. Weigh up all the positive a negatives and decide for yourselves.
So that's it, let me know what you all think, also, in the interest of consistency and continuity, I've only sworn once in this blog, so fuck, shit, bollocks.

Take a look back 10 years and the mess we were in, credit where it’s due, we are now a well run, financially secure club, all of which is down to the owners FSG. Appreciate we all want world class signings, but our squad is probably the envy of most, without breaking the bank. Take a look across Stanley Park, relatively new owners, spent a fortune on players, just managed to avoid relegation, be careful what you wish for !! In my view, better the devil you know, we are flying high, stadium expanding and improving, just enjoy the moment, we’ve waited a while to be back at the top again 🏆🏆🏆
Yes.... well said 👏👏
🔥I really really enjoyed this article! more of the same please! Hopefully people will read this and we won't get all the same rubbish year in year out!. Well done Dave! it puts things into perspective!🔥 I really am glad you took the time to write this. Credit where it's due fella!👍👍👍👍👍
Dave yr a star in the making, or one already, I haven’t worked out which one yet. haha✊🤴
Good read Dave, FSG do frustrate me at times, but balancing the books has to be priority. I'm all for keeping Salah and maybe employing a Haaland or Mbappa one day, but not at any cost. I think one of the reasons we don't see many incomings, is there are very few players out there who are better than what we've already got. Or they don't fit into the liverpool way. I'm not that concerned with who we buy, I'm more concerned in tying down those we need. I figure klopp will buy the person when he's ready, then sprinkle his magic dust and turn them into a world beater. I like the pictures Dave!!!
couldn't have said it better... Great article also
