3 reasons why upcoming summer window is absolutely crucial for Man United
It's another summer transfer window coming up soon and with a massive win over Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United have placed themselves in a very comfortable position in terms of player negotiation, having sealed our place in the Champions League next season.
As usual, almost every player on the planet is being linked to us, but of all the rumours out there, the ones I feel hold water are potential deals for Pau Torres/Jules Kounde/Sven Botman (CB options), Paulo Dybala/Ousmane Dembele/Pedro Neto (Right-wing options), Edison Cavani/Harry Kane (Striker options).
Much has been said about our center-back pairings of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire and the need for reinforcing the defence with a fast left-footed central defender.
All indications show that Solsjkaer will go for Pau Torres from Villareal, who has a comparably lower asking price but quality and experienced defender as against the much-fancied and super talented Jules Kounde. I'm still not convinced Pau Torres is better than Lindelof though..
I know you might be wondering why I did not include Jadon Sancho as an option in the right-wing positions?
Well, to put it plainly in the words of Samuel Luckhurst, a sports journalist from the Manchester United Evening News, we have moved on from Sancho as an ideal option due to the severe financial difficulties brought by the coronavirus.
Instead, Ed Woodward and John Murtough are targeting players who are either free agents or less than 2 years left on their contracts as they will command significantly lower transfer sums without necessarily compromising on the quality.
I believe Ousmane Dembele will renew his contract and stay at Barcelona, and Solsjkaer will choose Paulo Dybala ahead of Pedro Neto simply because of the Paul Pobga factor plus the fact that Dybala will come far cheaper.
With just a year left on his contract and Juventus looking to cash in on him, Dybala will command not more than £40m in transfer fees, unlike Neto who wolves believe will take at least £50m.
If you're a Manchester United fan, forget Erling Haaland! It won't happen!!
Manchester United are thought to have grown weary negotiating with his notorious agent Mino Raiola and Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans Joachim Watzke. They will instead prioritize convincing hardball Tottenham Hotspur owner Daniel Levy to part with Harry Kane - who has expressed his desires to move on should his team not qualify for the champions league next season, or hope that Edison Cavani will find his last few months at Manchester more entertaining and fruitful enough to stay for at least another year.
However, Solsjkaer can be full of surprises as in the case of the Daniel James transfer that shocked all of us.
We have closed the gap in quality and performance with city rivals Manchester City, so I believe a marquee signing to take us over the edge will be the priority this summer. Fingers crossed 🤞🏿😊

Hi mate! Thank you so much for the post - I've just tweaked it a lil bit to make the headline and picture better but your work is clearly doing all the talking and we love it :) I also don't think we will sign Haaland (forget us, I don't see any club agreeing to let Raiola call the shots and pay Dortmund's huge asking fee). Kane seems like a much better option but again, Levy won't let him go so easily. It's going to be an interesting summer ahead of what promises to be an even more crucial campaign for United. Imo, a striker and CB will be enough but then in the January window, we must prioritise a CDM.
sure..thanks a lot
When did we " Seal our place in the champions League " with 7 game's to go ???
Ofcourse we have , you don’t need a seer to tell you that , we are the second best team in England this season and we will finish in second place for sure. Matter of fact I see City dropping more points.
Ok let's wait and see if you're crystal ball is right ?
Very impressed by this article. I would prefer Jules Kounde to Pau Torres personally as I feel he's a genuine CB superstar. I didn't think about Dybala but this has really madee feels it'll be a very good deal as he will bring flair, playmaking and goal scoring qualities which is much needed in our team. it's gonna be difficult to bring in Harry Kane but to be honest If the signing of Dybala happens, I feel Greenwood is good enough to be put in CF position. then finally I feel United should get Bisouma from BHA. I have watched him and other CDM in premier league and apart from players like Ndidi, he's a very talented , confident and strong CDM.
it will be interesting to see Greenwood in the center striker's role...but looking at his goal returns i doubt solsjkaer will risk it. If cavani will stay and dybala will join, that would be great for us.
I agree with you. I feel Cavani staying one more season will really help Greenwood to become a better striker
