Real Madrid move 7 points clear with win against Celta Vigo
Real Madrid moved seven points clear at the top of La Liga courtesy of a 4-0 win over Celta Vigo on Sunday night.
Los Blancos began the game brightly and saw several efforts on target saved in the opening minutes. However, it did not take them long to break down Celta, as Vinicius Jr turned home from a corner kick to put his side firmly en route to three points and breathing space atop the Spanish top flight.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side continued to dominate, racking up 71% possession and seven shots on target in front of an expectant home crowd before the referee finally brought the first half to a close, much to the relief of the Celta faithful.
The Spanish giants continued to dominate the tie but it took until ten minutes from time to double their lead, with a pair of late own goals from Celta Vigo players and a goal from Arda Guler adding gloss to the scoreline and ensuring that there was to be no sting in the tail.
Despite the absence of Jude Bellingham, Los Blancos continue to motor forwards.
