Is Thiago Motta really coming to replace Xavi?

Recent reports have linked Barca to Thiago Motta. The Bologna coach has excelled beyond belief in the Serie A, helping a low-budget team qualify for the Champions League.

However, there's almost no chance that Motta will come to Barca and replace Xavi. The manager's direct agent Alessandro Canovi, informed Diario Sport that there have been no contact with anyone at Barca over the move.

Moreover, Juventus recently fired their manager Max Allegri citing bad behaviour and Motta is favoured to replace him.

Motta plays a seductive free-flowing brand of football that resembles Barca's tikitaka and has captivated the whole of Italy.

His 2-6-2 formation leaves rivals bewildered and promises goals aplenty – plus a watertight defence.
