Carlo Ancelotti has been relishing the possibility of leading Real Madrid to a third Champions League final under his pragmatic management.
“We reach this point in the season with a fantastic opportunity to play in another final," Ancelotti said after Real Madrid drew 2-2 against Bayern.
"When you have the ball you have to attack well and when you don't have it you have to defend well.
"We will try to do this because you can't always have the ball. We have not seen the best version of Real Madrid [in the first leg].
"[The second leg] is going to be complicated because we're playing against a great team and the tie is tied, but the fans are going to help us for sure in the return leg," the big boss added.
Ancelotti is accurate with his assessment. Real Madrid are favourites to win the second leg and reach the final after avoiding defeat away at a densely packed Bayern stadium in Munich.
Los Blancos are the comeback kings in the Champions League and would need to dig deep into their rich pedigree to overcome the Bavarian hordes from Munich.
