According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are going to hold a 'final meeting' with Luka Modric's representatives to finalize his contract extension.
The specific terms of his new deal, including wages and the length will be decided in this meeting. This also comes after the Croatian midfielder told the club of his desire to stay.
Modric has reportedly agreed to a major pay-cut to sign a new one-year contract. He's desperate to stay at Real Madrid next season and ideally retire at the club.
The 38-year-old midfielder's current deal expires at the end of June, 2024. However, he's now likely to stay on for the 2024/25 campaign too.
Along with Modric, Real Madrid are also pushing to get Toni Kroos to sign a new contract extension after his impressive recent performances.
Despite his age, the Croatian midfielder has had an excellent campaign with Real Madrid. He's scored two goals and provided eight assists in 43 appearances.
