Luka Modric prepared to make 'significant' gesture for Real Madrid stay

 is prepared to significantly reduce his salary to stay at 

 beyond this season, El Chiringuito's Jose Luis reveals. 

Modric intends to retire at Real Madrid and isn't considering leaving the club until 2025. 

The Croatian legend is Real Madrid's third best-paid player with a €10.5m net salary per season. However, a pay cut could see him earn less than half of that figure if he stays. 

Modric could move to the MLS or Saudi Arabia and receive a lot more than he currently earns at Real Madrid but the midfielder wants to see out his career at Real. 

The 38-year-old has won the Champions League five times and La Liga four times at Real Madrid. Altogether he won 24 trophies at Real Madrid. 

Modric has scored two goals and registered eight assists in his 45 appearances for Real Madrid this season.
